Volunteer Crisis Counselor

- Required to complete 56 hours of training-32 hours classroom time and minimum of 24-hour internship, working with an experienced counselor
Volunteer Board of Directors
- Contact the REAL Crisis Center for information
- Required to be nominated to the position by an active board or staff member and voted on as a board member
Volunteer Bilingual Assistant
- Required to complete the volunteer orientation training
- Internship (minimum 12 hrs)
Rape Victim Companion Program
- Required to complete the volunteer crisis counseling training
- Three months as a crisis counselor
- Complete an additional 12 hours training course and participate in a minimum 10 hours internship
Special Events Assistant
Required to complete the volunteer orientation training for that specific event
Volunteer Information Specialist
Required to complete the volunteer orientation training and internship (minimum 12 hrs)
Student Internships:
- Available for college students
- Required to interview
- Required to complete 56 hours of training (32 hours classroom time and 24-hour internship, working with an experienced counselor)
Volunteer Crisis Counselor Training Class Schedule:
First Class: January 23 – February 18
Second Class: March 19 – April 14
Third Class: May 21 – June 16
Fourth Class: September 10 – Oct 4
Fifth Class: October 22 – November 17
